Outburst UK Black LGBTQ Pride Festival 2008 PDF  | Print |  E-mail
ImageThe second annual Outburst UK Black LGBTQ Pride Festival takes place on Saturday, 9 August 2008 on the safe and secure grounds of the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Seven Sisters, north London and will be dedicated to the memory of fashion designer, actor and model, Arthur Peters who died last month. The day will run from 12 Noon till 10pm and there will be a fireworks display at 9pm.

The festival is an inclusive event regardless of race, nationality, age, gender or orientation, so we are hoping to see everyone coming out to have fun.

Designed by award winning architect David Adjaye, the Bernie Grant Arts Centre is the latest addition to London’s cultural arts scene and will provide a perfect backdrop to this year’s festival. It is a place of boldness and a fitting tribute to the memory and contribution of Bernie Grant MP, and we are pleased to be a part of this cultural heritage.

Headlining on the main stage is US RnB recording artiste Michael Ashanti who will be performing exclusively at the festival, plus Kym Mazelle, the well known American Dance-pop, Soul and House music diva, UK Lesbian Rapper Mz Fontaine, European dance sensation Shena, plus the UK’s answer to Destiny’s Child, 4Flava, one of the UK’s top belly dancer Cassia, up and coming rapper MC Chewy, young R’n’B singer Cory McLeod, UK Reggae artiste Guess, and others. Our host this year will be the gorgeous and talented TV presenter and director, Trevor Blackman.

We also return this year with our signature fashion show. Choreographed by Trevor Blackman and will showcase clothes from some of the UK’s top young designers.

Additionally, the festival this year will have two trained Sign Language Interpreters on site for the deaf or hearing impaired. The grounds and venue are disabled accessible and there are disabled parking. Please call 07981 899 225 to arrange access. For all others there are limited parking available and preference will be given to those driving from outside London, please visit the website for details. All proceeds from donations on the day go to the Black Disabled Achievers Group in south London.

We are also pleased to announce this year, because of the generosity of our sponsors, community organisations and individuals; tickets have been reduced to ONLY £5 to ensure the festival remains accessible to everyone. This however, will remain a ticketed event and will be available by:
  1. Calling the Bernie Grant Art Centre on 0208 365 5450, visiting them at Town Hall Approach Road, Seven Sisters, London N15 4RX, or visiting their website at www.berniegrantcentre.co.uk .
  2. Visiting Outburst UK : Tickets and more information.
  3. Calling 07981 899 225 for other ticket availability.
Only 2,000 tickets will be available and there will be limited amount left on the door on the day so please ensure that you get yours early.

VIP tickets are £25.00 and includes access to the VIP Hospitality Lounge, Drinks, Meal and our 2008 Poster.

As we are continually updating information on our website, please remember to keep visiting us: www.outburstfestival.org

With your help, let’s make this another successful event and we look forward to seeing you all on the day.
