By collecting information from men from all backgrounds and all ethnic groups across Britain we will be able to build a picture of how sexual health services meet the needs of men who have sex with men (MSM) and how services might be improved.
We think this research study is important and would be grateful for your help.
We hope that about 5000 men will take part in the study.
WHO IS INVOLVED?
The project is based at City University, London, and is being conducted in collaboration with Homerton University Hospital and the University of Bristol.
The study is funded by the UK Medical Research Council. The funding covers the running costs for the project including one full-time researcher.
The study has been reviewed and approved by the South West Multicentre Research Ethics Committee.
WHAT DOES TAKING PART INVOLVE?
We have put together an online questionnaire which should take 20-30 minutes to complete.
You must be male, over 18 years old and living in England, Scotland or Wales to take part.
The questions will ask you details about your background, your social networks and sexual behaviour, and your experiences of using sexual health services.
We know some of these questions can be sensitive. If you find any of the questions too personal or intrusive you do not have to answer them. Before taking part, you might wish to discuss your participation with other people, such as family, friends or your GP.
Your participation is entirely voluntary and you may withdraw at any stage.
FURTHER INFORMATION
We would like to carry out an online one-to-one interview with a small number of men to discuss some of the issues in more detail. There will be further information about this at the end of the questionnaire.
If you would like any further information about the study before completing the questionnaire, please contact:
